Jennifer Lopez receives $1.5 million to perform at birthday bash in Russia |
 American pop star Jennifer Lopez came to Moscow for one night and made close to $1.5 million for appearing at a concert at the birthday party of AST owner Telman Ismailov. Ismailov has also brought Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey and Ricky Martin in to play for him. Lopez has been to Moscow before and played at other private parties. A source close to the party organizers commented that her fee was “usual, not excessive.” That would seem to mean around a million and a half dollars.
Lopez arrived in Moscow with her husband Marc Anthony late in the day on Thursday. She chose the Swissotel Red Hills to stay in, which has a sweeping view of Moscow. She dined in the hotel restaurant, did her makeup and proceeded to the Safisa banquet hall to join the party already in progress.
Once she arrived, she was asked to wait, however, so that she could appear last on stage. Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, State Duma member Iosef Kobzon, singer Alla Pugacheva, the godfather of soul James Brown, film directors Mark Zakharov and Yuly Gusman, comedian Gennady Khazanov and others graced the stage to offer Ismailov their good wishes. Lopez, who is known for her temper, informed organizers that every half hour of waiting time would cost them $200,000.
Around midnight, Lopez performed four of her best-known numbers and went to sit with the guest of honor, who presented her with a jewel-encrusted golden microphone. Then she and her husband left for the airport, without paying their hotel bill. Ismailov's party continued at his house just beyond the city limits until morning. Several high-placed guests enjoyed dancing in the wee hours.

Jennifer Lopez to perform in Nigeria in December |
 Information reaching Nigerian newspaper The Weekend Tide’s Entertainment desk indicates that come December, 2006, sensational singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez (J.LO) will be coming to Nigeria in December for a musical performance.
It was also gathered that an event promotion company in conjunction with a foremost bottling company in Nigeria is putting together this December show that will feature other American musical stars who are yet to be named.
The spokesperson for the event promotion company who spoke on condition of anonymity said “the loose ends of the deal have not been tied but as soon as that is done the whole thing will be made public”.
“What I can assure you now is that J.LO has agreed to come to Nigeria and if nothing happens along the line to change that decision, you will definitely have J.LO here in December, I cannot say precisely when in December, but all things being equal, she will be here”, he said.

Jennifer Lopez Sued Over Jet Bills |
LOS ANGELES - A private jet company has sued Jennifer Lopez, saying the singer and actress is late on payments for a pair of chartered flights.
Avjet Corp. of Burbank sued Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking nearly $35,000.
It claims Lopez has yet to pay for two flights on Gulfstream jets from Farmingdale, N.Y. — one to Puerto Rico on Jan. 26, and another to Burbank on May 25.
Each flight cost about $16,000, according to the lawsuit, and with interest the bill totals $34,241.
An invoice lists the passengers as Marco Muniz — the real name of her musician husband, Marc Anthony — and Lopez under the name Jennifer Muniz, along with four other guests.
Calls made after business hours Thursday to Lopez's attorney and publicist were not immediately returned.
Lopez, 36, has appeared in such films as "Selena", "Out of Sight" and "Monster-in-Law."
She and Anthony co-star in "El Cantante," a biopic of salsa legend Hector Lavoe that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last month.

JLo To Debut New Fashion Designs At Fashion Week Miami Beach |
She missed New York's Fashion Week, but now Jennifer Lopez is eyeing a different week to show off her new clothes. The singer/actress/designer will premiere her latest JLo and Sweetface gear during Fashion Week Miami Beach, which runs October 11-15 in Florida. Lopez's JLo line will be on the runway at Tents at the Fifth on October 12 — with an afterparty to follow at the Funkshion Lounge. The Sweetface collection will debut October 14 at the Hotel Nash.

Jennifer Lopez performed with Marc Anthony at the Coliseo De Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 29th. It is reported she also announced on this day at a press conference that her Spanish album, Como Ana Una Mujer, would be delayed from November to February or March of 2007, however, this is not confirmed yet.
