When Jennifer Lopez sashayed into Dolce & Gabbana's catwalk show on Thursday, she was met with whoops and roaring applause as even the front rows -- packed with top buyers and the cream of the fashion press -- stood to get a glimpse of the pop diva.

But Lopez, in a figure-hugging dress, was all but eclipsed by the rich gold embroidery and sumptuous empire-line brocades that filled a collection inspired by Napoleon and his time.

"It was so beautiful, so gorgeous," Lopez told Reuters backstage after the show as she sat between designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. "It was everything you expect from Dolce & Gabbana -- sexy, powerful, ethereal."

Rapper NELLY insists HALLE BERRY and JENNIFER LOPEZ are the sexiest women alive.

The HOT IN HERRE hitmaker obeys his father's lesson that all females possess attractive qualities, but finds the celebrity beauties' curves irresistible.

New York, Feb. 10, 2006 – We never dreamed that we’d use the words "Jennifer Lopez”, “Karl Lagerfeld” and "designers” in the same sentence, but each staged a fashion show on the same day. Tommy Hilfiger backs both lines, but we couldn’t work that into the previous sentence.

Both of Tommy’s superstars chose Friday, the final day of New York shows, with Lagerfeld capping the week with an 8 P.M. show at a West Chelsea location. Many exhausted reporters and photographers got to go home early when Lagerfeld organizers alerted media outlets that afternoon that there would be no celebrities at the show. “I called off my reporter; our fashion editors will cover the Lagerfeld show” a news editor of one major magazine told us Friday afternoon at Jennifer Lopez’s Sweetface show.

Lopez also held her show away from the Bryant Park tents, at an industrial space in the far West Village, late on Friday afternoon. The 20-minute show was small, with fewer pieces than most collections, and was repeated three times in one hour, with fresh guests being shuffled in for each segment. At one end of the space stood a riser, where the models paraded in front of an actual Airstream trailer, from which Lopez emerged to introduce each segment.

The atmosphere was relaxed, even with the star and her husband, Marc Anthony, roaming around. Bottled water and champagne dispensed from a hotdog cart were favorites of the fashionable guests; the fattening mustard-coated pigs in blankets, burgers and shot glass-sized chocolate and vanilla milkshakes, not so much.

NEW YORK -- Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez is using her starpower to rally support for a fellow Latina who is suffering from blood cancer.

Lopez, 36, is urging Hispanics in New York City to donate blood marrow to help Janet Ovalles, a 29-year-old of Dominican descent who needs a transplant from a matching donor to survive.

"I am a young Hispanic woman, so is Janet. I could empathize with her situation so much," Lopez said in a statement released Friday by DKMS, the bone marrow donor center that is organizing donor drives for Ovalles.

"These things just make you realize that we're all interconnected and depend on one another," said Lopez, who is of Puerto Rican descent.

Doctors say that a bone marrow transplant is Ovalles' only chance for recovery _ and the most suitable matches are from people of the same ethnic background.

But with Hispanics sharply underrepresented in the pool of registered donors, the prognosis is bleak. For Ovalles, there was no match in her family or among the 10 million registered donors worldwide.

"I am a walking time bomb," Ovalles said in a recent interview. "If I don't find a donor, I will die."

With Lopez calling attention to her cause, Ovalles hopes to find a matching donor at bone marrow drives Feb. 24-25.

"It's been very hard to recruit Hispanic bone marrow donors, but with Jennifer's help we really feel we can get the Hispanic community on board," said Katharina Harf, head of DKMS.

Jennifer Lopez has refused to give up making music.

The 'Jenny From The Block' singer says could never give up singing because she feels she has more control over that than her movies.

She told Britain's OK! Magazine: "I think it's really special when the music hits because it's so personal.

"Everything is so intimate about making a record. There's not a lot of people involved - that's really me, I really get to control all the decisions."

"I get to decide what I record, I get to do it all."

However the 'Monster-In-Law' actress says she couldn't stop making movies either.

She said: "I could never choose between them. They are both very creative in a different way.

"I really need both outlets, for some reason.

"I could never imagine myself just giving one up."

Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony have re-fuelled rumours that they are expecting a child after Lopez recently closed a posh baby store down for a private shopping spree.

The Jenny From the Block singer had exclusive Petit Tresor in Los Angeles shut their doors for 45 minutes last month so she could shop uninterrupted.

A source tells MSNBC's The Scoop: "She came with some woman, maybe a relative or an assistant, entered through the back, and bought thousands of dollars worth of things for a baby girl."

UPN, which is the home of the "South Beach" series, and The WB are merging into one channel called The CW later this year. While a schedule won't be released until the upfronts in May, the new network is sure to carry such hits as "Gilmore Girls," "Supernatural" and "Smallville" from WB and "America's Next Top Model," "Veronica Mars" and "Everybody Hates Chris" from UPN. With only 13 hours of prime-time programming a week, chances are slim that "South Beach" will make the jump to the new network unless its viewership significantly increases.

San Juan, Feb 3 (EFE).- Nuyorican couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony wrapped up here with what amounted to a free concert the filming of "El Cantante" (The Singer) based on the life of Hector Lavoe.

The stars went to the Ruben Rodriguez Colosseum in Bayamon next to San Juan, where they shot a musical scene Thursday for the film about the life of the late singer.

Thursday night's shoot recreated a Lavoe concert in New York's Madison Square Garden that included the memorable songs "El Cantante" and at the final curtain, "Everything Comes to an End."

To create a realistic atmosphere, 5,000 free tickets were given away and every seat in the house was filled.

The film is being produced by Lopez, who stars as Lavoe's wife Puchi, while Anthony stars as Lavoe.

During the filming Thursday night Anthony stayed onstage at the Colosseum wearing glasses and a dark suit. Together with Cuban film director Leon Ichaso, Anthony told security personnel to let the concert-goers crowd around the stage.

Lopez, wearing a backless red dress, stayed in the wings where the audience could see her as part of the scene, but at times stepped onstage to thank the audience for their help and support.

JENNIFER Lopez has demonstrated just how much she loves a wedding - by halting production on her new movie because it was disturbing a couple exchanging vows next door.

The actress was filming El Cantante with her husband Marc Anthony in Puerto Rico when they heard that movie trucks and crowds were blocking a hotel next door that was hosting a wedding.

Bride Juliana Rosales had spent a year planning her nuptials to Dennis Gonzalez and was incensed when a film staffer asked her to stop taking pictures at her own reception.

Juliana's mother threatened to bring shooting to a standstill by screaming on a street corner until the cast and crew made way for her daughter.

When Jennifer and Marc heard about the trouble the film shoot was causing they halted production.

The celebrity couple met with the newlyweds to apologise, agreeing to pose for pictures with the pair.

Juliana told US Magazine: "Everyone apologised. I'm happy. I have a story to tell my kids."
