A Grammy Duet For J. Lo & Marc Anthony?

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will sing a duet at this year's 47th Annual Grammy Awards, reports Foxnews.com. The two will try to top last year's Beyoncé/Prince performance. The married couple will likely choose to sing a duet written by Anthony which should appear on J. Lo's upcoming new CD, Rebirth. But Foxnews.com's Roger Freidman also says it is possible she could perform her latest single, "Get Right." The two married on June 7, 2004.

In other Grammy news, Maroon 5 has been chosen to open the Grammys with a performance of "This Love." The group's debut CD, Songs About Jane, is up for two awards. The show will take place February 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will air on CBS.

J-Lo Mannequin Hitting Stores

From SMH AU NEWS

Shapely dummy helps maker's bottom line

With her multiple marriages, bling bling and diva-like behaviour, Jennifer Lopez seems an unlikely model for the average woman.

But Sydney's biggest producer of mannequins believes the singer and actor "mirrors what the customers are".

"We're not all stick figures," said Simone Goodrick, the general manager of Kodis Mannequin.

The company has just introduced its latest fashion dummy, the J-Lo mannequin, whose main feature is its "South American bum".

Kodis estimates there has been a 30 per cent increase in sales of its standard size 12 mannequins and size 16 torsos over the past 12 months.

"The market's demanding realistic girls," said Miss Goodrick, whose clients include Target, David Jones and Bras 'n' Things.

Graeme McPherson, operations manager of Storeworks, a shopfitting and merchandising retailer, said inquiries for larger dummies have risen from about one in 40 three years ago to one in 10. But these inquiries tend to be from boutique or speciality shops, not big department stores, he said.
Sarah Carter, national visual merchandising manager for Just Jeans, said the clothing retailer had replaced its size 8 mannequins with size 10s in CBD stores over the past 18 months.

"They're not voluptuous but they definitely have a hip and a bottom," she said.

"It makes the product look a lot better [and] fills out the jeans," said Ms Carter.

American mannequins have also been supersized. The New York manufacturer Ralph Pucci recently sold his size 12 "Goddess" mannequin to the upmarket department store Saks Fifth Avenue.

But Daisy Veitch, managing director of the Adelaide mannequin maker SHARP Dummies, said it was not the shop mannequins that needed to grow.

With the average Australian woman wearing a size 16, Ms Veitch said: "Unless you change the mannequins that are used for the modelling [manufacturing of garments], it doesn't really matter because the clothes won't fit the customer."

Minnie Driver Downs Jennifer Lopez's Music Career

Actress-turned-musician MINNIE DRIVER has hit out at JENNIFER LOPEZ, because her dancing skills and sex appeal made it far easier for her to make the transition from movie star to pop singer.

Driver believes her songwriting talents mean she was destined to forge a music career sooner or later, and she dismisses J.Lo's "butt shaking" as her only real contribution to the music scene.

The 34-year-old says, "If you dance and you're really hot, there's no doubt you can cross over.

Lopez, Duff, and Spears are among the nominees for the 25th annual Razzies

They may not have won a Golden Globe, and their names were conspicuously absent from the list of Oscar nominations, but stars like Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears are still vying for the gold: the Golden Raspberry.
For her roles in "A Cinderella Story" and "Raise Your Voice," Duff was nominated for Worst Actress. She'll go up against Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Shawn and Marlon Wayans — who got the nod for achievements in drag in "White Chicks."

Lopez and Spears will duke it out for Worst Supporting Actress for their small roles in "Jersey Girl" and "Fahrenheit 9/11," respectively. Carmen Electra ("Starsky & Hutch"), Condoleezza Rice ("Fahrenheit 9/11") and Sharon Stone ("Catwoman") are also up for the title.

Nominees for the awards were announced on Monday by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, a group that annually determines the most abysmal films, actors and songs of the last year. Suitably timed to strike Hollywood hopefuls when they're down, the nominees are unveiled less than 24 hours before the ceremonious announcement of the Oscar nominations.
With its tail between its legs, "Catwoman" leads this shamed pack of nominees for featuring what the Golden Raspberry Foundation calls "an Oscar winner calamitously miscast as a cartoon character." The flick, widely panned by critics, is a candidate for awards including Worst Picture, Worst Actress (Berry) and Worst Screen Couple (Berry and either Benjamin Bratt or Sharon Stone).

For being a "big-budget epic that managed to be both historical and hysterical," "Alexander" is a contender for six awards, including Worst Picture. In addition to challenging "Catwoman" in that category, it will go up against "Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2," "Surviving Christmas" and "White Chicks" for the dishonor.

If selected as the best of the worst in their respective categories, nominees will receive "an unintentionally cheapjack tchotchke featuring a gold-ball-sized, handcrafted RAZZberry atop a mangled Super 8 film reel that's spray-painted gold and has an estimated street value of $4.79," according to the foundation.

With 2005 commemorating the 25th anniversary of the awards, the Golden Raspberry Foundation also revealed its nominees for the special Worst of Our First 25 Years Awards. The category of Worst Razzie Loser honors the Susan Luccis of the Razzie Awards, those actors who have been nominated several times but never won. Nominees include Kim Basinger, Angelina Jolie, Ryan O'Neal, Keanu Reeves and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who leads with eight nominations.

Winners will be announced at Hollywood's Ivar Theatre on February 26 at 7:30 p.m. PT, one day before the Oscars.

New Report from Contact Music

I just read this story from Contact Music, and while I personally doubt the validity of the story, it's my job to post Jennifer Lopez news. You can use your own judgement:
"J.LO 'QUITS BRITS AFTER BABY ROWS WITH ANTHONY' "

Latina beauty JENNIFER LOPEZ has cancelled her performance at next month's (09FEB05) BRIT AWARDS following an argument with husband MARC ANTHONY over her baby plans.

Salsa singer, Anthony allegedly told broody Lopez he doesn't want to have children because he already has two sons, RYAN, 16 months and CRISTIAN, 3, with ex-wife DAYANARA TORRES, as well as a daughter ARIANNA, 11, with ex-love DEBBIE ROSADO, reports British newspaper the NEWS OF THE WORLD.

And friends say Lopez has decided against flying to London for the music ceremony so she can work through her problems with Anthony, who she married last June (04).

A source says, "They're been arguing, but recently things seem to be getting worse. The main problem is J.Lo wants children and Marc doesn't want any more.

"But J.Lo's worked flat out to get where she is and wants a child. She loves Marc and she's torn."

Earlier this month (JAN05) Lopez admitted she was desperate for a baby, saying, "I have always been very big on family and I've always said it will happen one day. I would love it."

J-Lo, Usher heat up French pop awards in Cannes

CANNES, France (AFP) - Pop diva Jennifer Lopez and rhythm and blues sensation Usher lit up the stage in the French Riviera town of Cannes at the 2005 NRJ Music Awards, France's flashy answer to the Grammys.
But performances by some of the biggest names in international pop music largely eclipsed the presentation of the awards. And as for fashion statements, white was clearly the color of the night.

Lopez, sporting a sultry white tuxedo with black lapels, electrified the youthful crowd with the first live performance of her new single "Get Right", off her upcoming album "Rebirth" -- a dance anthem sure to be a club classic.

Usher -- decked out from head to toe in white, including his diamond stud earrings -- swaggered through his monster hit "Yeah!", eliciting screams from the women in the audience with his hip-thrusting dance moves.

The king of American R&B, nominated for eight Grammy awards, dominated the charts in 2004 with "Confessions," the year's top-selling album in the United States with nearly eight million copies sold.

Keys, a five-time Grammy winner nominated for eight statues this year, delivered a powerful rendition of "If I Ain't Got You." She followed the A-list dress code with a white trouser suit.

Other winners included US hip-hop group Black Eyes Peas, which took home top honors for best international album with "Elephunk." British pop quartet Blue won for best international group or duo.

French-Canadian pop star Roch Voisine took home the award for Best Francophone Male Artist.

NRJ is one of France's most popular radio stations, and more than five million listeners cast ballots in 13 categories -- six French-language, six international and the video of the year -- ahead of Saturday's ceremony.

Irish rock band U2 received a special career achievement award. The group was originally scheduled to perform, but frontman Bono told reporters that one of the band's members was attending to a sick child.

Usher Says Jennifer Lopez's 'Get Right' Was His First

Ask Usher what he thinks of Jennifer Lopez new single "Get Right" and he might say "that's just wrong." Fox News is reporting that Usher already recorded "Get Right" as a single called "Ride." The song wasn't featured on his smash album Confessions, but it was released as a 12-inch club record and on the Internet last year. In fact, both "Ride" and "Get Right" were produced by Rich Harrison who is said to have used the same horn track on both songs.

Lopez' single was released as "Get Right" because it's mixed with a rap record with the same name by Fabolous.

Usher is reportedly furious about Lopez's release. When he was asked about her version of the song Fox News claims he said, "I hate it. And I'd better get some of the publishing (rights).

Jennifer Loves the Comfort of Home

JENNIFER LOPEZ has quashed her reputation as a frequent party-goer, insisting her ideal evening is spent in front of the TV.
Jennifer - who married Latino singer MARC ANTHONY - no longer craves star-studded Hollywood events, preferring instead to invite pals over for a night of small screen entertainment.

She says, "I'm a good hostess, so we have lots of nights in watching SEX AND THE CITY. We sit by the pool, listen to music and chat."

But she's just as happy taking advantage of home comforts alone: "I like to snuggle up in my pajamas in front of a fire and watch a movie. I always go for the funnier stuff. I love comedies, like DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO - it's one of my favourite films and it kills me everytime I watch it."

Jennifer- Getting A Little More Comfortable

JENNIFER LOPEZ has toned down her 'bling-bling' wardrobe in favour of "comfortable" clothes, but she still has a taste for expensive jewellery.

The JENNY FROM THE BLOCK singer has started wearing more conservative outfits since marrying Latino singer MARC ANTHONY last June (04), and her prolific clothes-buying in the past is starting to pay dividends.

The 35-year-old says, "This coat I'm wearing now has been in my closet for six years, so I have all this new stuff that's actually old.

"I still love my hoop earrings and my bling but I also see myself gravitating towards stuff that is a little bit more comfortable and lived in."

Lopez show hits road for encore

Jennifer Lopez is hoping to visit Australia as part of a promotional tour centred on the release of her new album, Rebirth.

If negotiations between Sony BMG staff in the US and Australia are successful, Lopez could be here in the first half of the year to present her new music to Australian fans.

The pop diva formerly known as J.Lo (yes it's true, she now wants to be known as Jennifer) had all but confirmed a visit to Sydney in late February, for a brief promotional tour. But release dates for the album in the United States were shifted to February 28, so Lopez's management is trying to work out different dates for her proposed trip to Australia, possibly in March.

"We want her to come, and she definitely wants to come out here, but it's a matter of finding space in her schedule," a spokeswoman for Sony BMG Australia said.

For some fans, the old "finding a hole in the schedule" line might indicate Lopez actually is too busy to visit our shores. But insiders insist the singer has definite plans to visit Australia this year, and she has not given up on the trip simply because of scheduling changes.

The prospect of Lopez's visit brings back memories of her trip to Sydney in 2001 when she arrived in true superstar style, with husband-to-be Cris Judd. (Now firmly in the category of ex-husband).

Her press conference at the Boomerang mansion in Elizabeth Bay was an absolute circus of beefy security guards (watching over J.Lo's arrival by boat), gushing publicists and one of the largest entertainment media packs I've ever seen.

Members of the press were warned off about asking questions about her troubled break-up with Puff Daddy - although we snuck a few in anyway - but it was hilarious simply witnessing the frenzy surrounding Lopez's every word and movement.

Of course, that was before the "Bennifer" years (when attention was primarily focused on Lopez's relationship with Ben Affleck) and film flops including Gigli, so it will be interesting to see whether Lopez can create a similar fuss this time around.

As for the music? The word from the States is that Lopez is back in form with some hot R'n'B dance tunes, but we'll have to wait and see whether the singer makes a massive impact on the charts.

Jennifer Lopez hated her ''movie star house''

Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she moved out of her Hollywood house and sold it because it was too much like a ''movie star house'' rather than a ''homely'' place. The ''Wedding Planner'' actress said that she did not want something that she could show off, instead she wanted a place which was warm and comfortable, where she could grow old with her third husband Marc Anthony who she married last June, reports Female First. "It was a movie star house. I''ve bought a smaller one instead. We have a house in Long Island like a French chateau. It's glamorous but still homely. It's a house to live in, to grow old in. you can see yourself there in 50 years," the report quoted her as saying.

Lopez Doesn't Seek Attention

Jennifer Lopez insists her purpose in life is to win acclaim as a star of music and movies, not dominating gossip magazine covers across the world.

The Jenny From The Block singer has learned from mixed receptions she has received in the media, but hasn't let the media frenzy that surrounded her failed relationship with Ben Affleck and marriage to Marc Anthony alter her outlook on life.

Jennifer says, "I've never been on so many magazine covers in my entire life - it was scary. I got into this business to sing and dance, to make music and grow as an artist."

"I love doing what I do and hearing people respond. That's what I do it for. Not for my life to become this front-page weirdness, a territory where you are always going to be picked apart. But I've learned from it.

"One minute they're with you and, all of a sudden, they get angry with you. My work ethic hasn't changed, my personality hasn't changed but I was viewed very differently throughout that time."

J. Lo's quiet life on Long Island

Browsing for diamonds at Manhasset's tony Americana shopping center might not seem like the most down-to-earth activity to most Long Islanders.

Then again, most Long Islanders aren't Jennifer Lopez.

But La Lopez has been keeping a lower profile lately than in the days of Bennifer and Puffy, and recent sightings of her on Nassau's North Shore -- where her husband, singer Marc Anthony, owns a home in Brookville -- may indicate a longing toward what passes, at least along the Gold Coast, as a more normal sort of life.

Lopez and Anthony made a casual entrance when they strolled into London Jewelers one weekday this past summer, said store manager Richard Cefalu. "Some celebrities pull up in the Rolls Royce with bodyguards, and they're dressed like they're going to a gala, because they want to be noticed," he said. Not so J. Lo, who wore jeans and a casual bandana over her head. "If you didn't recognize her, maybe you wouldn't give her a second look," he said.
While some customers gawked, Cefalu's sales staff -- trained to discreetly handle the pampered set -- kept their jaws in place as they helped the star try on what Cefalu called some of the shop's more "user-friendly" gems, including a diamond necklace.

Lopez and Anthony, who smiled and joked throughout, tried not to draw attention to themselves, he said. "They wanted their space, and I think to feel at home."

Long home to some very serious old money, Nassau's North Shore is the sort of place where celebrities such as Lopez or homegrown star Billy Joel may merit notice, but it's considered ill-bred to talk about it.

On a recent run to an upscale Greenvale toy store where Madame Alexander dolls go for $189 and a battery-powered, child-size Vespa scooter fetches $300, Lopez didn't exhibit any more cash or flash than other customers, said a store manager who preferred to remain anonymous. Yes, Lopez and her husband brought a driver and that celebrity accessory, the personal assistant, to the shop. "Lots of people around here have limos, and that sort of thing," the manager said.

Not everyone was quite so blase about the news that Lopez had moved to the area.

Pharmacist Angela Cangero of Glen Cove said she is a big fan -- "I think she's classy, she's beautiful and she's very real" -- and would love to see J. Lo walk into her workplace, Locust Valley Chemists.

Lopez has not dropped by to finger containers of lavender-scented bath salts in the relative privacy of this upscale retail strip, where Mel Gibson is said to have lunched recently just down the road at Buckram Stables.

Cangero, 25, has had to content herself with the next best thing: a drive-by glimpse of the star's house, or at least what Cangero's boyfriend told her was the celebrity couple's home as they whizzed by in the car.

Members of C.W. Post's track team had better luck in the fall, when they got treated to what some college guys might consider a dream come true: seeing Lopez work up a sweat.

One day in November she arrived in a black Hummer and, as her driver kept watch from the bleachers, clocked some laps on the college track. "She did a good five miles," said sophomore Stephen Strait, 19, a high-jumper and sprinter. At first the runners didn't realize with whom they were sharing the track. But soon enough the whispers began, until one team member -- after craning his neck under the guise of performing an elaborate stretch -- was able to see her face, and darted over to spread the news. "We didn't try and talk to her though," Strait said.

J.LO: 'IT'S THE RIGHT TIME FOR KIDS'

JENNIFER LOPEZ is desperate to start a family, because now feels like the right time for her and husband MARC ANTHONY.

But the superstar is glad she resisted the temptation to get pregnant with former loves CRIS JUDD and BEN AFFLECK.

When asked if now felt the right time to have children, she replies, "It does. I have always been very big on family and I've always said it will happen one day. I would love it."

She adds of her decision not to conceive while married to dancer Judd or engaged to Affleck, "So glad. God has a plan, I'll say that much."

LOPEZ GETS DANCE TIPS FROM DeGENERES

JENNIFER LOPEZ got a few extra dance tips on the set of her music video GET RIGHT - from comedienne ELLEN DeGENERES.

DeGeneres visited the Los Angeles shoot of the video recently, and mockingly rivalled the superstar's entourage by hiring a group of men to accompany her - including one who swept the ground in front of her as she walked.

DeGeneres also danced with Lopez and her dancers, and made a mess of the dance steps.

She told Lopez, "I'd like you to think bigger than videos. Why don't we hear about you? I just wanna see pictures. I just wanna hear, What's Jennifer doing?'"

Regis & Kelly, Usher clips

Here's the bit from the Regis & Kelly rerun that aired a few days ago when Jennifer was on to promote Shall We Dance.

And this is Usher's unreleased "Ride." The music and even some of the lyrics are the same as "Get Right" because both were produced by the same people. When Usher passed on it, it was probably offered up to Jennifer.

Which version do you think is better?

LOPEZ'S CANCER HERO DIES

JENNIFER LOPEZ was such a heroine to one sick young girl, she lied about her condition so she could spend her last evening of good health with the singer.

Lopez befriended tragic cancer patient PAIGE PETERSON during low-key visits to The Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, and when the superstar was honoured at a gala for the hospital in October (04), her 11-year-old pal insisted on being there.

The girl's parents tell LATINA magazine that their daughter had started feeling sick just before the event but she refused to tell her parents, because they wouldn't have let her attend. Paige ran a high fever the following morning and never recovered. She died in November (04).

Lopez, who sent a huge, heart-shape wreath with dozens of red roses to Paige's funeral, reveals her memories of her little friend have made her realise why her charity work is so important.

She tells the magazine, "That's why I do this. I don't like to do my charity work in public. That's not what you do it for."

Paige's mother SUZANNE admits Lopez will always have a very special place in her heart: "Jennifer helped give Paige a voice because what my daughter wanted was to let the world know that kids get cancer - and Jennifer helped her do that."

LOPEZ: 'I'D DO GIGLI AGAIN'

JENNIFER LOPEZ has once again rushed to the defence of her critically-mauled 2003 movie GIGLI, insisting the appeal of the original script was impossible to resist.

The actress has appeared in a series of box office flops over the past few years, but she's defended her disastrous on-screen collaboration with BEN AFFLECK, claiming she'd happily repeat her experience shooting the film.

She says, "I would pick Gigli again. There was some interesting writing in it. You never know how a movie is going to turn out but if you believe in it, you go with it.

"If I had the time to do it again, I would.

"It was a moment in time. It was what it was. It all seemed like the right thing. I did my best and it's important I stand by my work."

Jennifer Lopez Going On Tour ... Probably ... Maybe

Jennifer Lopez is planning something special, and she really hopes it works out this time.

To support her upcoming album, the singer is gearing up for her first-ever tour. "I've tried to plan a tour so many times," she said. "And we're planning it again. It's exciting."

Now that she's wrapped work on two films hitting theaters this year — "An Unfinished Life" with Robert Redford and "Monster-in-Law" with Jane Fonda — Lopez thinks her schedule might have an opening large enough to allow her some time off as a road warrior. "Because of the fact that I work in film, it's been hard," she said. "It's been hard to map out that amount of time to really do it right."

The focus of Lopez's set would likely be songs from her new album, Rebirth, such as "Step Into My World," "Still Around," "Cherry Pie," "This Is Me," the Fat Joe collaboration "Hold You Down", and first single "Get Right." But there might also be a lot of back catalog, since Lopez has never toured and rarely performs live. There are no details on the tour just yet, according to Lopez's label rep, but the singer said she envisions the outing as "just me doing my thing."

"We'll see if it happens," she said. "I've learned not to get my hopes up." Still, Lopez added, "I can't wait!"

A source says, "Jen wants a baby more than anything - she's not taking any chances that puffing could hurt her unborn child."

J.Lo defends quick marriage

Superstar Jennifer Lopez has lashed out at critics of her whirlwind third marriage to Marc Anthony, insisting the media and public don't know the full facts of their relationship.

The singer and actress started dating long time pal Marc Anthony in February 2004, only a month after ending her engagement with Ben Affleck, and went on to marry the salsa singer in early June.

Lopez admits she hates the media and public judging her behaviour after a string of broken engagements and failed marriages to her Cuban waiter Ojani Noa, rapper and producer Sean 'P Diddy' Combs, dancer Cris Judd and Affleck over the past eight years.

She says: "Misinterpreted, misjudged. I was on a TV show yesterday and I was telling them I'd like to set boundaries about my personal life and the interviewer said: 'Well, what if I told you you got married too soon?'

"I was like: 'Well, you have no right to judge me, you don't know what happened.'

"People think they know the facts, but they don't. Some of it's totally made up and some of it's based on truth and some of it's a soap opera they're creating.

"I'm human and I make choices. I follow my heart, I make mistakes and I just keep going. I'm a woman. Well, I'm a girl and, absolutely, I believe in love. It's the only thing.

"The most important thing is to believe in love and that's the only thing I've ever been guilty of."

J.LO AND ANTHONY BUY MARITAL HOME

Superstar couple JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY are buying their first marital home together, in South Beach, Florida.

The New York natives, who wed in June (04) after a whirlwind four-month courtship, own a variety of houses in California, New York and Florida between them, but have yet to buy a residence together.

But gossip website PAGESIX.COM reports the Latina beauty is finalising their purchase of a $9.9 million (GBP5.2 million) penthouse apartment in the fashionable new Icon Building, featuring interiors by French designer PHILLIPPE STARCK.

Lopez and Anthony will be able to see views of South Beach from their huge balcony and swim in their own private pool.

J.LO SINGS ABOUT BENNIFER BREAK-UP ON NEW ALBUM

JENNIFER LOPEZ has written a "special song" about her discovery BEN AFFLECK wasn't her 'Mr Right' on her forthcoming album REBIRTH.

The AIN'T IT FUNNY? star split with her GIGLI co-star and fiance last January (04) after a high-profile romance, and married salsa singer MARC ANTHONY in June (04) following a whirlwind courtship.

And Lopez opens up about the painful split in the ballad THIS IS ME.

She explains, "It's a special song. It's different to everything else on the album. I had it originally for my Spanish album, but I decided to write it in English because it meant so much to me.

"It just came from a place of having been through situations in your life where you think something is one thing and it turns out to be another. It's terrible, but it's life.

"And I think we think we know people but we don't."

Fat Joe Nearly A No-Show To Flow With J. Lo

Jennifer Lopez got quite a party going on her upcoming album, Rebirth, when she invited the folks who worked on her first LP, On the 6, to come back and make magic once again. She ran into a snag, though, when she tried to get Fat Joe.

Lopez thought the rapper would be perfect for a song called "Hold You Down," which she said is likely to be the second single from Rebirth (the first, "Get Right," was released to radio this week). She had gotten the song "kind of late in the process" of making her album, but the moment she heard it, she said, she felt like it described the kind of relationship she has with Joe.

"It's more like a friendship record, you know what I mean?" Fat Joe explained. "Growing up in the Bronx and how we became who we are, but we still keep it real with each other. We don't talk every day, but we got mad love for each other whenever we see each other. It's always crazy love."

"So I'm listening to the song," Lopez said, "and there's nobody I can do this song with except Fat Joe. So I give him a call right away. I'm like, 'What's up? Can you come down? I've got something for us ... and it's hot.' And he's like, 'I'll be there tomorrow.'"

The problem was that the recording studio was "way out" on Long Island, New York, hours away from their home turf in the Bronx.

"The next day I'm at the studio, I'm waiting for him and he's not there," she said. "And I'm like, 'Isn't Joe coming by today?' They're like, 'Yeah, yeah, he's five minutes away.' An hour goes by. I'm like, 'Where's Joe?' 'No, no, he's right down the block.' Now I'm starting to get worried. I'm in the vocal booth and I'm like, 'Isn't Joe supposed to be here by now?' " she asked, imitating the exasperated tone she had used at the time. "They're like, 'Joe's lost. He's been lost for two hours.' I'm like, 'Oh God! No!' I was like, 'What happened?' And they're like, 'I don't know, we gave him bad directions.' ... I wanted to kill somebody."

"It's the Secret Service Studio," Fat Joe laughed.

By the time Fat Joe did arrive, Lopez worried that his enthusiasm for the recording process had diminished, especially when he seemed like he just wanted to get it over with. " 'Yo, just play the record, for real,' " she said, imitating his voice.

"Now it starts occurring to me," Lopez said, "that only I heard this song the day before. I haven't really lived with the song yet. What if this song sucks? What if he hates it?"

With these doubts running through her head, she played Fat Joe the track. When it was over, she looked at him to gauge his response, and after thinking for a beat, he smiled. "He's like, 'Yo, that's hot, Ma, I love that.' He loved the song!" she said with relief. "And the rest is history."

"The record was a hit before I even touched it," Joe said. "Like, it's a smash hit. She did me a favor throwing me on there."

That night, Joe started writing his part of the song. The next day, he came back — this time without getting lost — and laid down his vocals. And in the next few weeks, they'll shoot a video, according to Lopez's label rep. "It'll be very real," Lopez said. "It'll be us."

Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: Hey guys! I'm so glad you logged on! I can't wait to answer some of your questions. What's going on out there?
shaWtayXOX in Onstage_1 asks: if you could choose any song on your upcoming album that means the most to you what would it be?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I think the most risky song or the song that is most different called "This Is Me" because it was written in Spanish first and it's so different than anything else on the album and is the most dramatic song. It's the most special to me.

tazzrule in Onstage_1 asks: Why "Rebirth" is the best title for you album?
chelsy_d in Onstage_1 asks: Why did you call your new album "Rebirth"?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I decided to call it "Rebirth" because I had taken a vacation for the first time in a long time, I'm a bit of a work-a-holic and when I came back it felt I was in a different phase of my career, as well as life and the title represents a new beginning.
staceygreens in Onstage_1 asks: Are there alot of dance tracks on this album? Stacey, Boca Raton FL.
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: There are a few yes. The one thing I wanted to do with this album was to get a lot of up tempo on it because that's how I was feeling. In the studio you end up writing other things as well, but there are some dance tracks on it.
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I wanted to incorporate funk into it, I had been listening to a lot of James Brown and horns and drums, and it gave it a nice funk for this album.
mamaminx in Onstage_1 asks: Cold in Nebraska writes Do you find it difficult to balance being a singer, dancer and actor?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I've been doing it for a while now and have found the balance in it. I go with my gut to choose material for films and music. It really all depends and I try and balance. It's not as calculated as people think, I try and let things flow from an artistic
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: place.
j-Lo_mEm in Onstage_1 asks: I can't belive that you will read what i wrote here...I am shaking now,I ADORE you jennifer, thanks for everythin...Jennifer,i REALLY LOVE YOU,it is not just a fan love, i feel like you are my relation,if you want i can die..Don't forget me mEm from Turkey
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: That's so sweet.
MiaDolphinChic221 in Onstage_1 asks: I can't wait to see your "Making of the Video" on MTV...is it fun doing those?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: It can be very fun. It's great during the day when they're around and asking questions and when you're excited. But when it's 3am and they want you to just say "this" or "that" it's not so fun. (laughs) I actually really do enjoy it.
iamtheUniverse654 in Onstage_1 asks: I was just listening to "Get Right" which is one great song, better than any song out now, what inspired you to make it?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: It was like I said before I wanted to incorporate funk into my music and see what I came up with. Rich Harrison played this for me, it was origionally written for a guy and I was like, "I want that." It was aggressive and I wanted it.
Britty810 in Onstage_1 asks: What was the funniest thing while recording in the studio? Britty, Germany
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: (laughs) I asked Fat Joe to come down and do a duet. I called him and told him to be in the studio the next day, and he had to drive into Long Island and got lost and was upset when he got there and was like, "Just play the song." (laughs) But he loved
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: the song.
Alina-lucia1 in Onstage_1 asks: Your clothes in " get right" are perfect for you, did you choose them?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: Yes I do. She brings me a lot of choices and we decide what will go where. I have my own personal style and I gravitate toward things and I use my personal taste to get dressed. I don't overthink it too much.
EuropeanShorty1 in Onstage_1 asks: hey jenny What's the most importnant thing you enjoy doing in your career? -Vedrana TX
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I enjoy all of it. I enjoy the work part of it. I enjoy being on the set and actually acting or being in the studio and actually singing and recording. There's so much more to the business like meettings, but when I get to do my thing, that's the funnest
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: part for me.
amsdc in Onstage_1 asks: What is the probability of you doing a world tour in 2005?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I have been planning a tour for so many years and something always comes up like a movie or it's the wrong time of year. We are going to plan another one for this album and hopefully next year it will work out.
jamd05 in Onstage_1 asks: When somebody says, think happy thoughts. What’s the first thought that comes to your mind?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: (laughs) I think I think of a place, Miami. I really love tropical weather and I have a house down there. I think of the ocean and nature and being peaceful, which is not a big part of my life, but aspire to it once in a while. (laughs)
VioletDayn in Onstage_1 asks: Are going to make a DVD to go with the new album? Dayna San Jose,CA
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: We are planning on doing that. Maybe a making of the album that we'll try and sell with the CD. We'll see if that works out.
Moonchild6222 in Onstage_1 asks: I am looking for my true calling. How do you know what is the right career to follow?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: For me it was something that I knew since I was young, it was inside of me. If you are trying to find your true calling, you have to listen to yourself. That's the most true thing I can tell you.
NYTaina in Onstage_1 asks: Just wondering if you could give a young Latina advice on how to begin in Hollywood and stand out from the rest!! You are so inspiring to me because of where you came from and how far you've come. I feel stuck, I don't know where to begin HELP!
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: Be yourself because there's no body like you, that you can be sure of.
PureVeris in Onstage_1 asks: How many movies are we going to see you in this year?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: This year there will be two. "An Unfinished Life" with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman. And "Monster-in-Law" with Jane Fonda.
Jloisthebest7 in Onstage_1 asks: What makes "Rebirth" different from your past albums?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: It feels different absolutely, more like my first album. What I mean is taking time off let me feel that enthusiasm when I did the first album. You can really feel the energy. So it's the same but different. (laughs)
PrinylaMoy in Onstage_1 asks: Jen, you once said that u admire Rita Moreno cos shes the only woman who has won a tony, a grammy, an emmy and an oscar. Is that one of your goals aswell? Lynda, 21, Manchester, United Kingdom.
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: Yeah, that wouldn't be bad. (laughs) That would be a good thing. When you are in this business you realize it's not about those kinds of goals, being an artist, doing what's most fulfilling is doing the artistic part of it.
1angl1 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you have any New Years resolutions career wise?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I think I have had the same one for years, to find more balance between my career and my personal life where I can smell the roses. I am getting better at it though I think. (laughs)
jlovr22 in Onstage_1 asks: Jennifer talks to us about your upcoming spanish album... I loved your song Apresurate. Is it going to be more slow or faster salsa songs?
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: I'm very excited about it, it's my passion project. The first album I'm going to do in Spanish so that makes it exciting. Most of the songs will be ballads, some medium and up tempo. I will also do salsa versions of some of the songs.
maritza_student in Onstage_1 asks: You look sooooooo beautiful in the new vogue issue..how do you stay so fit? maritza, long island NY
Jennifer_Lopez_Live says: It's a battle for me like every other woman or person in the world. When you're not 16 anymore you have to pay attention to what you eat and work out because it helps your mind as well as body.

Various News From Contact Music

Lopez: "Fame Changed Me"

Singer and actress JENNIFER LOPEZ lost her desire to be a top stage and screen performer when she became famous.

The Latina star allowed her art to suffer as she developed a growing passion for wearing designer clothes and expensive jewellery, which she would regularly show off at glamorous parties.

She explains, "It was all a bit mad. For a girl like me, wearing gorgeous clothes and having all this attention was amazing. It was like being a princess.

"But it didn't take me long to realise that that sort of fame can be scary. The more the circus builds up around you, the more you start to lose all those intentions that get you there in the first place.

"I was always about being a good performer and working hard, doing movies, making music, but that started to get lost in all that crazy stuff."

J. Lo: "Call Me Jennifer"

Jennifer Lopez is so sick of her "J.Lo" stage name, she nearly titled her upcoming album Call Me Jennifer.

The Jenny From the Block singer - who ultimately settled on Rebirth as the moniker for her new disc - is desperate to ditch her J.Lo tag so she can propel the true Jennifer into the spotlight, and bury the reputation attached to her alter- ego.

She says: "I'm not J.Lo. She's not a real person. She was just a bit of fun that got really crazy. I've never been anyone but Jennifer.

"I was going to call the album Call Me Jennifer because that would be my way of saying goodbye to the whole J.Lo thing. But Rebirth is perfect because it means so much more."

Lopez's Painful Memories Of Past Loves

Latina star JENNIFER LOPEZ was left so devastated after a series of broken relationships before her marriage to MARC ANTHONY, she often longed to swap lives with a more fortunate woman.

The singer and actress was on the verge of quitting showbusiness after the media turned into a figure of ridicule following her two divorces and high-profile splits with ex-boyfriends SEAN 'P DIDDY' COMBS and BEN AFFLECK.

However, she deems the unflattering portrayal of her disastrous romances unfair, insisting her only flaw is that she falls in love too easily.

She says, "I throw myself into love because I believe in it, but when things don't work you have to take responsibility.

"You all know things have gone wrong for me. Everybody has laughed, everybody has had a knock at me. It hurts, it always does.

"There have been times when I didn't want to be me any more. From the outside looking in, it may have appeared that it was a glamorous exciting life, but I would have swapped places with anybody. It really did start to get to me and the easy thing to do would be to walk away."
