Egyptian folk singer Hakim and American singer Jennifer Lopez have reached an agreement to sing a duet. Hakim initially postponed negotiations with Jennifer since she was in the process of moving to a new production company, although Hakim still hopes to include the duet in his upcoming album.
Hakimâ€™s duet with Algerian Rai singer Cheb Khaled was also postponed due to a misunderstanding between his and Khaledâ€™s production company.
Hakim said that he is currently working on a new duet with Porto Rican singer Dano Omar.
Hakim has also reached an initial agreement with American singer Lionel Richie to sing a duet in Oslo, Norway, where the two met during the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony two months ago. The two had given different performances at the event.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Hakim has so far recorded seven songs for his upcoming album. He has worked with some of the brightest composers like Egyptian singer Hameed Al Sha’eri, Amal Al Taer, Mohammad Ismat, Issam Tawfiq, Waleed Abdul Atheem and Hamdi Sukar.
After his recent participation in the Noble Peace Prize ceremony, Tunisian satellite channel Hannbal invited Hakim to appear as a special guest on the show â€śAl Laila Lailaâ€ť (Tonight is the night). During the televised interview, Hakim revealed that he has now become more careful in his selection of public appearances and interviews.
Hakim is the first Arab singer to participate in the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. The singer is considered to be one of the most popular Arab singers with international recognition.
