the JLO fashion and lifestyle products under the creative direction of singer
and actress Jennifer Lopez today announced that Denise Seegal, President and
CEO of the company, will be leaving. Andy Hilfiger, Co-Founder and Director
of Sweetface, who has been involved at every management level of the company
from its inception in April 2001, will assume Ms. Seegal’s day-to-day
responsibilities.
In making the announcement, Mr. Hilfiger said, “Denise has done a
wonderful job in bringing Sweetface Fashion to this point in our history.
However, we have an exceptional team of executives and key personnel in place
who have substantially contributed to the growth of our brand and its
licenses.”
Sweetface Fashion Company was formed in 2001 when Jennifer Lopez and Andy
Hilfiger joined to develop a fashion collection under her creative direction.
Sweetface launched its first junior sportswear collection, JLO by Jennifer
Lopez, for Holiday 2001. The company immediately developed fashion and
lifestyle product extensions under the Jennifer Lopez name, and has expanded
rapidly in its short three years of existence.
Today the JLO product line includes apparel, swimwear, sunglasses,
fragrance, jewelry, hats, scarves, gloves, outerwear, handbags, belts, small
leather goods, lingerie, watches and footwear. Its fashion offerings are
available in more than 1,000 department and specialty stores throughout the
United States as well as internationally.”
